Tell us a little about yourself?
Hi my name is Courtney and I am a twin who married a twin (crazy right), I have a gorgeous little boy called Bailey (who is now 3) he was born premature at 29 weeks. I had a hindwater tear at 26 weeks meaning I needed to be rushed to the Mercy Hospital for women where I could be monitored and looked after as he could come at any second. I am honestly so thankful that Bailey decided to stay put for just shy of 4 weeks so he could develop and grow. Being a premmie mama has most certainly had it's challenges but opened my eyes to how precious life is and can be. I am currently working my dream job as a social media co-ord. Working with beautiful mamas who inspire me daily.
Describe motherhood in 3 words?
Rewarding, challenging, loving
What is the best advice or support you have received about motherhood?
Mental health is important and there are so many outlets out there. Seek help if need be. You are not alone.
What is important to you when choosing goods for Bailey?
I really love the words 'learn through play' building Bailey's confidence and growing new skills while continuing to learn is so important to me.
What are your dreams and hopes for your children?
For Bailey to be happy in anything he chooses to do in life with us cheering him on always (we are his biggest supporters) I hope he grows up in a world where we continue to be kind.
As a parent, what sustainability issue needs the most focus?
I think packaging for kids goods. Although it has gotten a lot better being eco friendly. I think we could step it up a notch.
What tips would you give other parents who are wanting to live more sustainably?
Be mindful, recycle and re-use! Ensuring we do better environmentally and reduce plastic.
We are living in an uncertain time, what has helped you and your family cope?
We certainly are going through challenging times but what has got us through is a lot of creativity, fun and adventures within our home. Daily exercise, keeping in touch with family, friends and exploring nature.
